Dental implants

Dental implants are strong and permanent replacements for missing teeth, and many patients are now choosing to have these instead of bridges or false teeth.

What are dental implants?

An implant is a small titanium rod which is placed into the jaw bone where your tooth root used to be. Over several months, the jaw bone gradually grows around it, providing a strong base. A natural-looking porcelain crown is then placed upon the implant, providing a new tooth which is virtually indistinguishable from the real thing.

Dental implants can also be used to hold dentures firmly in place, making it far easier to eat and speak.

This treatment is carried out at our sister practice, Belgrave House Dental. For more information please visit their website.
